The New York Yankees hit the jackpot with Aaron Judge.
When they drafted him in 2013, they expected him to develop, but probably not to this extent.
He is now, easily, a top-two hitter in the game and a true star in MLB’s biggest market.
Not only that, but he has all the traits and qualities of a good leader.
That’s why he was named the captain a couple of years ago.
Former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez was invited to “The Herd,” Colin Cowherd’s show, and talked wonders about Judge.
“If you could make up the perfect New York, Madison Avenue player, it would be @TheJudge44,” he tweeted, as he discussed how he fits the Big Apple like a glove.

“How lucky are we that he chose baseball over football because he had Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State coming after him,” he opened, mentioning Judge’s promising career as a football player.
However, he focused on his character more than anything else.
“He is also a tremendous young man, like Derek Jeter. The prototypical New York guy, Madison Avenue: likable, great parents, educated, married to his junior high sweetheart. He is the type of player that George Steinbrenner would have been madly in love with,” A-Rod explained.
Indeed, knowing “The Boss,” he would have made Judge one of his personal favorites.
Judge, who leads the league with 21 homers and a 1.090 OPS, has given the Yankees so much that he is almost cheap at his current $360 million contract.
There is really no other on-field leader the Yankees would prefer at this point.
